Marilyn A. Carter of Beal St., Winthrop passed away suddenly at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on March 6, 2012. She was 71 years old. Born in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Marie (Paradiso) and William Sylvester. A resident of Everett for several years, she moved to Winthrop over 45 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary for an auto school for many years.

She was the loving mother of Robert Carter Jr. and his wife Jill of Winthrop and Wayne Carter and his wife Lisa of Saugus. Dear sister of Mark Sylvester of York Beach, Maine. Cherished grandmother of Kaitlyn, Danielle, Michael, Jessica and Victoria.

Funeral from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O'Maley Funeral Home 147 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation on Friday, March 9, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Committal private.
