Ryan James Saunders

U.S. Veteran

Ryan J. Saunders of Lyme, NH passed away suddenly at the Boston Medical Center on June 1, 2012 at the age of 29. He was the proud father of a three year old son, Noah. He was the beloved son of Eileen (Moynihan) and Eric Saunders, the dear brother of Benjamin, Olivia, and Shannon Saunders and the cherished grandson of George and Anna Moynihan and Gage and Beverley Saunders. He also leaves behind a loving fiance, Caroline Flynn of Braintree, MA.

Ryan was raised in Lyme, NH, where his family resided for 24 years. He attended Lyme Elementary and Middle school as well as Hanover High School, and was a graduate of Winthrop High School. Ryan attended East Coast Aero Tech where he studied Airplane mechanics. Following school he enlisted in the USAF and became a jet specialist stationed in Spokane, WA. During his enlistment, he furthered his academics through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and was a proud member of the Honor Guard. He later deployed to serve his country overseas in Operation Enduring Freedom. Following his service, Ryan returned to the Northeast to be closer to his family. Throughout his life he was an avid skier and volunteer race coach. Ryan was an enthusiastic and outgoing young man. His zest for life and his spirit will be dearly missed.

Funeral from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O'Maley Funeral Home 147 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Committal will be private.
