Antonette E. Day of Seaview Ave., Winthrop passed away at home on March 26, 2012 after a long illness. She was 80 years old. Born in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Rosa (Scorzelli) and Luigi DeMasellis. A resident of East Boston for many years, she moved to Winthrop over 55 years ago. Prior to her retirement she was employed as a clerk for the State of Massachusetts.

She was the devoted wife of the late Walter Day and the loving mother of Jeanne M. Day of Melrose, Michael Day of Amesbury, Ellen A. Collins of Dedham and Billy Day of Revere. She was the dear sister of Gene DeMarsellis and his wife Rita of East Boston. She is also the cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Michael, Rachel, Benjamin, Sarah, Jarod, Dillan and Ethan.

Visitation from the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O'Maley Funeral Home 147 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The funeral mass will be conducted from the St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
