Anne D. "Nancy" McDermott of Beverly and formerly of Winthrop passed away at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled nursing Center in Beverly on August 22, 2015 after a prolonged illness. She was 92 years old. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the beloved daughter of the late Elizabeth (Greenan) and Harold A. Duryea. A longtime resident of Winthrop, she was employed for many years as a Teacher Coordinator at the Winthrop High School for over 24 years. She was a member of the Massachusetts Teacher's Association, the Friends of Winthrop Library and the Mystery Book Club.

She was the devoted wife of the late Charles McDermott and the loving mother of Joseph McDermott of Beverly, Charles McDermott of Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Anne Porter of Winthrop. She was the cherished grandmother of Timothy, Christine and Joseph and the great grandmother of Benjamin. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 AM following the visitation. Interment will follow the service in Winthrop Cemetery.
