Daniel J. Johnson Sr., of Revere Beach, formerly of Winthrop passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital May 4, 2016. He was 93 years old. Born in Boston, he was the beloved son of the late Margaret (Moss) and James Johnson. A Winthrop and Revere resident for many years, prior to his retirement he was a Boston Police Officer.

He was the loving husband of Isabelle A. (LaRaia), devoted father of Daniel Johnson and his wife Monica (DiGenio) of Melrose, Robert Johnson and his wife Louise (Nattaliano) of Boxboro and the late James Johnson. He was also the dear brother of Barbara Walsh of Milton, Alice Crasco of Fredericksburg, VA, James Johnson of Florida, Virginia Aliberti of Winthrop and the late Mildred Brown, Gertrude Conlin, Marguerite Burke and Mary Theresa Wright. He was also the loving grandfather of Adrienne, David, and Justine.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, May 6, 2016 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass in the Winthrop Cemetery.
