David A. Bidmead of Winthrop and Peachtree City, Georgia passed away at the Somerby Assisted Living Facility in Georgia on October 14, 2016. He was 89 years old. Born in Winthrop, he was the beloved son of the late Grace (Wolf) and Warren T. Bidmead. A graduate of Winthrop High School, he went to work at an early age at Northeast Airlines as a mechanic that would eventually become Delta Airlines where he worked for over 47 years. He was also a life member of the Winthrop Yacht Club and at the time of his death was the oldest living member there.

He was the husband of Laura Bidmead and the late Claire E. (Smith). He was the loving father of Jean Famigletti of Winthrop, Jan Poe of Winthrop, Joy Brown of Colbert, Georgia and John D. Bidmead of Peachtree City, Georgia. He was the dear brother of Ernest Bidmead of Leominister and Warren Bidmead of San Ramon, California. He was the cherished grandfather of Dawn, Lyn and Eric and the great grandfather of Jeremy, Emily and Cassidy. 

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow the service in Winthrop Cemetery.
