Eileen Collins Nicewicz of Sewall Ave., Winthrop passed away on November 24, 2017 at the Lighthouse Nursing Home in Revere with much loved niece, Debbie Fitzgerald, in attendance. She was 69 years old. Born in Winthrop the daughter of the belated Josephine (McDonald) and J. Edmund Collins I. She spent her life in Winthrop, Auburn and Bartlett, NH, her beloved home in the mountains. She was the devoted wife of Frank Nicewicz of Chelsea and predeceased by her dear older brother, J. Edmund Collins, II, also of Winthrop. She was employed most of her life in clerical and managerial positions, most recently retired from the Town of Winthrop as Assistant Tax Collector.

She leaves her cherished niece and nephew Bridget M. Collins of Maui, HI and Joseph E. "Jay" Collins, III of Winthrop and her sister in law, Mary McDonald also of Winthrop. She is survived by Kathy and Maureen Gutowski of Winthrop and William and Anne McDonald of Revere in addition to many relatives in the Nicewicz family as well as many cousins in Indiana. She also leaves her best friends, Roberta Henderson of Winthrop and Mary Keszuwski of Oxford, MA.

Eileen was a creative, kind and generous woman and was loved by many life-long friends and neighbors. She will be missed very much.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow the service in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery.
