Eleanor Anne Hazlett of Walden St., Winthrop passed away at  home on January 13, 2016. She was 95 years old. Born in Arlington, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ellen M. (Toomey) and Frederick E. Witham. A lifetime resident of Winthrop, she was the former proprietor of the Winthrop Country Day School for many years.

She was the devoted wife of the late Winthrop Fire Chief Edward A. Hazlett and the loving mother of Sandra A. Jasse and her husband Andre of Florida, William E. "Ned" Hazlett and his wife Eleanor Davidson of Peabody, Christine E. Nims and her husband Bill of New Hampshire, Mary E. Harris and her husband Craig of Colorado and Catherine Weaver and her fiance Bob of Wilmington. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. A funeral mass will follow the visitation in the St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Winthrop Cemetery
