Ernest G. "Capi" Caponigro of Malden passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on August 15, 2016. he was 75 years old. Born in Winthrop, he was the beloved son of the late Mary and George Caponigro. A resident of Winthrop for many years, he also lived in Revere and Malden. At an early age he enlisted in the United States Air Force reaching the rank of Airman Second Class. After his honorable discharge he became the proprietor of Action Transmission and Stop and Go Transmission in Malden. He was also a member of the Winthrop Yacht Club.

He was the loving father of Lisa Collins and her husband Paul of Wakefield and Stephanie Caponigro of Everett. Dear brother of Paul Caponigro of Maine and the late Georgia Adamson and Andy Caponigro. Cherished grandfather of Nadia and the loving companion of Rosemary Kearney.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 7:00 PM. Committal private
