To Linda and the rest of Gene’s family, I am so sorry as I just heard of Gene’s passing. I worked with Gene at US Customs and first met him in the early 70’s at the Custom House in Boston then we worked together in Toronto. He was a gracious and extremely kind person and would do anything to help others. I have a lot of fond memories of Gene and Linda. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. With sympathy, Bill O’Connor

Linda,
I met Gene when he transferred from Canada. Great guy and we had many laughs in cargo and he was our candy man. Raised a lot of money for the Explorer program. My deepest sympathy and may God bless Gene and his family.

To the Gerbitz family I'm very sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of knowing Gene for many years. Although he was my Boss, I'll remember him as my friend. He always had a smile and kind word when he would greet you. He was a man of patience and compassion. His easy going style made him a joy to work with. He brought a lot of professionalism to the Customs Family in the port of Boston. I know of no one who ever had a bad word to say about Gene. He was truly a Class Act! Rest in Peace my friend. May your reward in heaven be great. You spent your time in Purgatory here on Earth.

Dearest Linda and entire Gerbitz family,

I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Gene. A nicer, sweeter person there could not be... he had a good word to say about everyone. He was always happy and smiling and always saw the good and positive in everything and everyone. The world needs more people like Gene in it...Larry and I have very fond memories of our time with Gene and Linda in Toronto Preclearance Customs..He left us all a legacy of happy memories for us to remember him by. I hope those memories will help you in the difficult days ahead. My Deepest Condolences to all. He was just a wonderful person.

Love, Hugs, and blessings... Mary
