John J. Hart of Lynn and formerly of Winthrop passed away suddenly on October 23, 2015 at the Lynn Union Hospital. He was 74 years old. Born in Chelsea, he was the beloved son of the late Eva (King) and George O. Hart. He grew up in Winthrop and entered the Army at an early age where he served as a Sp4 during Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm. After his honorable discharge he worked for several years for the Winthrop Cemetery Department before moving on to the Massport Police Department. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Revere and the Amvets in Saugus.

He was the devoted husband of Beverlyanne (Russ) and the loving father of Greg and Kathy Taylor of Lynn, Jonathan and Jenn Hart of Wilmington, Rachel and Christopher Donegan, Daniel Hart and Shaun Hart all of Lynn. He was the dear brother of George and Joan Hart of Danvers and the late Patricia Costley and Gladys "Sue" Summerlin. He was the brother in law of Greg and Rosemarie Russ and the cherished grandfather of Derek, Zachary, Justin, Caitlyn, Benjamin, Isabella, Joshua and the late Eva.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral service in the First Baptist Church of Revere 209 Beach St., Revere at 10:00 AM. The interment will follow the service in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
