John "Ted" Larson of Tileston Rd., Winthrop passed away at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere on November 19, 2017. He was 83 years old. Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late Laimi (Kuoppala) and John Larsen. He enlisted in the United States Marines at an early age reaching the rank of Private First Class. After his honorable discharge he went on to work as an engineer in the vacuum industry. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was the devoted husband of Frances (Marino) and the loving father of Lynne Evans of New Hampshire, John Larson of Dubai, Lauren Diehl of California and Darrin Larson of Winthrop. He is also survived by six grandchildren.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation in the funeral home on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery.
