Mary M. Russell-Walsh of Peabody and formerly of Winthrop passed away at the Brooksby Village in Peabody on June 22, 2016. She was 95 years old. Born in Roxbury, she as the beloved daughter of the late Mary (Devereaux) and James Costigan. A longtime resident of Winthrop, she has resided at the Brooksby Village for over 9 years. Prior to her retirement she worked as a claims processor for the State of Massachusetts.

She was the devoted wife of the late James T. Russell and William Walsh. She was the loving mother of James F. Russell and his wife Elaine of Colorado, Richard L. Russell and his wife Nancy of New Jersey, Rosemary Russell of Colorado, Robert J. Russell and his wife Judy of Groton, Pat Shaneck and her husband Mark of Wakefield and Susan Deleamont and her husband Phil of Switzerland. Dear sister of Sr. Rosemary Costigan, DOC of Maryland and the late Sarah "Sally" Keaveney. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass in Winthrop Cemetery.
