Norma J. Ostman died peacefully in the Den-Mar Health and Rehabilitation Center in Rockport on January 31, 2016. She was 84 years old. She was a life-long resident of Winthrop. Daughter of the late Bridie J. (Feeney) and George H. Ostman and sister of the late Claire, Georgia E. and John T. Ostman.

After graduating from Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing, Norma enjoyed a long career as a professional nurse and cared for many patients in the Winthrop Community Hospital. Norma was an avid Boston sports fan and was a regular attendee at daily mass at St. John the Evangelist Church in Winthrop.

She will be deeply missed by her loving cousin, friend and caretaker, Barbara (Corinha) and by Barbara's husband, Richard Fournier, who was always there to make sure that Norma's T.V. worked properly. Norma is survived by several caring cousins, including the Corinha's, McLaughlin's and Feeney's, and by many wonderful friends.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. The funeral mass will follow in the St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 11:30 AM. Interment will take place after the mass in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
