Ralph E. Maw, Jr. of Saugus and formerly of Winthrop passed away at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford on July 2, 2016. He was 71 years old. Born in Winthrop, he was the beloved son of the late Mary E. (Mulloy) and Ralph E. Maw, Sr.. A longtime resident of Winthrop, he was a graduate of Winthrop High School. After his graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. During his service he was a sentry dog handler reaching the rank of Sergeant. After his honorable discharge he went on to work as a technician for Verizon.

Devoted husband of the late Ann (White) and the loving father of the late Paul Mello and his wife Sharon of Windham, New Hampshire. He was the dear brother of Wayne Maw of Guilford, Connecticut and the beloved uncle of Wayne and Kurt Maw. Cherished grandfather of David and Andrew.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 12:00 PM. Interment with military honors to follow the service in Winthrop Cemetery.
