Sara J. (Morehead) Ivaldi of Weymouth, formerly of Winthrop, passed away at home on August 29th 2016 surrounded by her loyal family.

Sara was born and raised in Malden.  In her formative years she lived through The Great Depression and WWII where compassion, generosity and a profound sense of love and understanding were fostered within her heart.  She was a member of the USO and also did volunteer work in the hospitals.

In 1947 Sara married Charles G. Ivaldi and they raised their three sons.  In 1959 they moved to Winthrop and resided on Bates Ave for over 50 years.  Here is where she fostered many dear and lifelong friendships.  During this time she also lovingly helped raise her grandchildren.  Sara was known by all to lend a hand when needed.  She enjoyed cooking for family and friends as well as local shelters.  She also had a beautiful voice and was a wonderful piano player, but her greatest joy was nurturing children and togetherness of family.  Sara was an impeccable role model and positively impacted the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.  Sara was truly selfless.  She will be deeply missed and her memory will live on never to be forgotten.

Sara was the beloved wife of the late Charles G. Ivaldi for 57 years.  Loving mother of Charles and the late James and Richard Ivaldi.  Devoted grandmother of Elena Crowley and her husband Stephen, Nicole, Anthony and the late Richard and Michael Ivaldi.  Adored great grandmother of Alexis and Shane Crowley and Michael Ivaldi Jr.  Kindhearted sister of William Morehead, Jackie Morehead and the late Norman Morehead, Ellen McDonald, Mary Ward and Jean Glynn.  Also survived by many special nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the Memorial Mass in the St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 11:30 AM.
