Valerie A. Minichello of Woodside Ave., Winthrop passed away at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on January 7, 2017 after a brief illness. She was 72 years old. Born in Winthrop, she was the beloved daughter of the late Margaret (O'Neil) and Joseph LeBlanc. She was a resident of East Boston for many years before moving to Winthrop in 1984. Prior to her retirement she was employed as an administrative assistant with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Valerie loved to travel, going to the theater and was an avid reader.  

She was the devoted wife of Edward T. Minichello and the loving mother of Ronald Moore of Winthrop and Stephanie Lane and her husband Michael D. of Winthrop. She was the dear sister of Gail Taylor of California and Susan Roberts of Saugus. She was also the cherished grandmother of Michael and Charles Lane.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 11:30 AM. Committal will be private.
