Frank Michael Guidara of Atlantic St., Winthrop, after a long illness, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 15, 2021. He was 86 years old. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, Frank resided in Leominster before moving to Winthrop. The cherished son of the late Anna Mae (Vanluvener) and Michael Guidara. Loving father of Robert Guidara and his wife Taymy and the late Michael Guidara. Devoted "Nono" to Jennifer, Evonne, Giana, Christopher, Matthew, Grace Ann and Aiden. Loving brother of Catherine Coldren, Marylou Faller and the late Carmela Ann Guidara. Frank was married to the late Pearl (DiGeronimo). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
He is the devoted husband of Florence (Ferullo) of Winthrop and her son Douglas Kane and his wife Christine.
While Frank was attending Reading Central High School he helped his Dad run the family business at the B&G Grocery Store in Pennsylvania. Upon graduation in 1952 he joined the U.S. Air Force earning the rank of Air Traffic Controller serving his country for a 21 year proud career, Upon his retirement from active duty in 1974 he went on to work in the Fitchburg Post Office serving as a manager.
Frank was an avid bowler with a passion for Bocci and enjoyed a good golf game. His singing career was with the Leominster International Veterans Chorus Group founded in 2002 under the direction of Donna Allard. He enjoyed singing the music and networking with other veterans.
Frank served as Lodge President of the Order of Son's of Italy in both the Leominster and Fitchburg lodges before going on to be elected to serve as State Trustee in District 2. A devoted member of St. Leo's Church in Leominster, he served as an Eucharistic Minister and active supporter.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Services will conclude with the interment in the St. Leo's Cemetery. Leominster.
