Bernice M. Woolf of Undine Ave., Winthrop passed away at the Whidden Hospital in Everett on September 19, 2018. She was 97 years old. Born in Chicago, Illinois she was the beloved daughter of the late Ann and John Perkaus. She attended Northwestern University prior to joining the Navy during WWII. She met and married David and eventually settled in Winthrop. Bernice worked for the Massachusetts Aeronautics Commission for many years. After her retirement she busied herself volunteering at the Senior Center. She was also a member of the St. John the Evangelist Church Women's Club.
She was the devoted wife of the late David A. Woolf and the loving mother of Sharon McLaughlin and her husband John W., Marilyn Lewis and her husband Dr. Michael, John Woolf and his wife Patricia, Maryann Eitzer and her husband Edward and Nancy Hammond and her husband Mark. Cherished grandmother of Lisa, David, Kristin, Kylie, Alexander, Andrew and Steven. Also survived by her great grandchildren Elizabeth and Fiona, as well as extended family.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Interment Private.
