David Alioto Obituary

David J. Alioto of Quincy Ave., Winthrop, MA passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his loving family at Massachusetts General Hospital on May 8th, 2018. Born in Winthrop, he was the beloved son of Barbara M. (Thornton) and the late Victor Alioto Sr. He was also the beloved son-in-law of Leo Coluntino and the late Mary Coluntino of Revere. He was a lifelong resident of Winthrop. David graduated from Winthrop High School and worked at the Wang and Shubert Theatre as the Manager of  Facilities and Property Management for 18 years. He was a member of Local 402 Painters and Allied Trades Union for 26 years. He transitioned into property management and restoration services. But, his greatest love and priority that he cherished the most was taking care of his three girls.

He was the beloved husband of Dena Alioto and devoted father of Alexandra (Ali) and Ava Lee. Dear brother of Bonnie Whiting and her husband Gary of Arizona, Victor Alioto, Jr. of Revere, Donna Eruzione and her husband Michael of Winthrop, Mark Alioto of Winthrop, Stephen Alioto and his wife Donna of Winthrop, Susan Tapparo and her husband Andy of Topsfield, Debbie Oliver and her husband John of Winthrop, the late Paul Alioto of Winthrop, Patty DiBenedetto and her husband Tommy of Winthrop, Mary Alioto and her companion Rodney Leach of Winthrop, Michael Alioto and his wife Jenn of Winthrop and Danny Alioto of his wife Susan of Winthrop. Dear brother-in-law of Nancy Finnegan and her husband Douglas of Peabody. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, May 15 at 9:00 AM. followed by a funeral mass in the St. John Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Committal to follow mass at the Sheffield Mausoleum in Woodlawn Cemetery.
