Marilyn A. (Ciampa) Soper

Marilyn A. "Cookie" Soper of Lincoln St., Winthrop passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on October 14, 2018. She was 81 years old. Born in Boston she was the beloved daughter of the late Mary (Orlando) and Joseph Ciampa. A life long resident of Winthrop she was a 1956 graduate of Winthrop High School. She went on to work as a telephone operator and a customer service agent for New England Telephone. She also worked as an Avon Lady and was a former member of the Winthrop Golf Club and was the Keno Lady at the Winthrop Lodge of Elks.

She was the loving mother of Jim Soper and his wife Diane of Winthrop, Michael Soper and his wife Debbie of Winthrop and the late Lisa Zagarella. She was the dear sister of the late Jack Ciampa. She was the cherished grandmother of Michael Soper and his wife Jacquelyn, Meredith Soper and her fiance Craig Schlitter, Jennifer Hernandez and her husband Rob and James Soper and his wife Sara Soper-Stevens. She was also the loving companion of Pat Staff.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
