Paul J. Gaffney

Paul J. "Jerry" Gaffney of Thornton Park, Winthrop passed away at the Don Orione Nursing Home in East Boston on November 15, 2019. Born in Winthrop he was the beloved son of the late Ethel (Fitzgerald) and Paul C. Gaffney. A life long resident of Winthrop he enlisted in the Air Force serving in Vietnam for over two years reaching the rank of Airman 1st Class. After his honorable discharge he went on to work as a technician for the MWRA for many years. He also owned his own lobster fishing boat and was a member of the Winthrop Yacht Club.

He was the dear brother of the late Richard Gaffney and Judith A. Gaffney. He was also the beloved friend of Peter and Joan Marks and Ivone Soares.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 12:00 PM. Committal will be private.
