Ruth E. Sehovey of Lynn passed away peacefully at the North Shore Medical Center in Salem on March 5, 2019. She was 97 years old. Born in Cambridge she was the beloved daughter of the late Ruth (May) and Harry Lindon. A resident of Cambridge and Malden before moving to Lynn she was an inspector of leather coats at Star Sportswear prior to her retirement. During WWII she was a Rosie the Riveter working at MIT soldering radios for military bombers. She was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union and the Mass Senior Action Council. She also loved playing bingo and doing word search puzzles.
She was a devoted wife of the late Chester Sehovey and Fortunato D'Aveta. She was the loving mother of triplet daughters, Renee Pike and her husband Joe of Winthrop and the late Rose Grasso and her husband Andrew and Ruth D'Aveta. Dear sister of Claire Inkpen of Peabody and the late Dorothy Lindon and Robert Lindon. Cherished grandmother of Erik Little and his wife Jennifer, David Little and Robert Little, Jr.. Great grandmother of Emily and Ryan Little. Loving aunt of James Hickey and his wife Cindy and grand aunt of Courtney Hickey.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Service in the First Church of Winthrop United Methodist 217 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 12:00 PM. Committal will be private.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Shore View Home for their compassionate care and support during Ruth's stay there.
