Silvie M. (Hankins) McNeil

Silvie M. McNeil of Lincoln St., Winthrop passed away at the Boston Medical Center on April 10, 2018. She was 96 years old. Born in Wichita, Kansas she was the beloved daughter of the late Jessie (Thompson) and Eddy D. Hankins. A resident of Winthrop since 1946 she worked as a check collector for the Federal Reserve Bank. She was also a member of the Winthrop Emblem Club.

She was the devoted wife of the late William E. McNeil and the loving mother of David McNeil and his wife Barbara of Ohio, Maureen Famolare and her husband James of Billerica, Kathleen Famolare and her late husband Frederick of Billerica, William McNeil and his wife Barbara of Milton and Colleen Murphy of Winthrop. Dear sister of the late Bruce Hankins. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow the mass in Winthrop Cemetery.
