Guy A. Sasso Jr., 74, of Winthrop formally of Medford passed away on May 21st. Guy was born in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. He also attended Mass. Bay Community College and Northeastern University.
In 2010, he retired after 38 years from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. He held many roles including Chief of Special Investigations, Director of Seizure Unit, and Chief of Criminal Investigations to name a few.
He was passionate about his work, creating multi-agency task forces investigating both civil and criminal cases. He worked alongside local, State, Federal and International law enforcement agencies. He created specialized financial investigative training modules and was honored by the Massachusetts State Police.
He enjoyed life at “The Lake” in New Hampshire with family and friends. Among his hobbies were cooking, boating, exercising and entertaining. He enjoyed trying new recipes and sharing them with everyone. We will all miss his experiments with different food types to sample.
He leaves behind his wife Denise (Stone), daughter Kerri and four brothers: Joseph, Stephen, Christopher and Marc.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 PM that evening.
