Albert Daniel Flannery, Jr. passed away unexpectedly in Changchun, China on January 18, 2017. He was 64 years old. Born in Cambridge, he was the beloved son of the late Genevieve Mary (LaCerda) and Albert D. Flannery, Sr.. 

Albert graduated from Winthrop High School and Suffolk University. He was a retired postal worker and was teaching English and French at several universities in China at the time of his death. He also served in the US Army. He had lived in Winthrop and Swampscott and mostly recently in Changchun, China. He had a great passion for travel and languages and loved African Dance.

Dear brother of William and Cindy Flannery of Swampscott and Mary Ellen and William Jacques of Winthrop. Loving uncle of Todd and Kristyn Flannery, Rory and Melanie Flannery, Rachelle and Lynne Gallagher-Jacques, Kimberly Jacques and Reed Flannery. Also survived by 6 great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow the mass in the Cross St. section of Winthrop Cemetery.
