Caroline L. (Garshnick) Coffey

Caroline L. Coffey of Overlook Drive, Winthrop passed away at home on May 1, 2018. She was 71 years old. Born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania she was the beloved daughter of the late Ruth (Swanson) and John A. Garshnick.

She was the devoted wife of 52 years to Stephen T. Coffey and the loving mother of Kathleen Duffy and her husband John of Winthrop, Diana August and her husband Gene of Winthrop, Stephen Coffey and his wife Deanna of New Hampshire, Thomas Coffey and his wife Kristin of Winthrop and James Coffey and his wife Elizabeth of Maine. Dear sister of John Garshnick of Tennessee, Ruthann Dill of California and the late Linda Conway. Cherished grandmother of Kelleigh, John, Connor, Taylor, Molly, Gene, Kristina, Stephen, Thomas, Avalina, James and Lennon.  Caroline will be remembered as an incredible wife, mother and grandmother. She took pride in raising her children and was known as Mamaw to her grandchildren.  She enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s successes and achievements she was very proud of them all.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow the mass in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
