Edwin R. Ambrose of Walden St., Winthrop passed away at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston on August 28, 2017. He was 81 years old. Born in Winthrop, he was the beloved son of the late Celia (Mack) and Louis J. Ambrose. A life long resident of Winthrop he was employed as a supervisor for the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority prior to his retirement.

He was the devoted husband of Lois J. (Moran) and the loving father of Scott Ambrose of Winthrop and Eric Ambrose of New Hampshire. Dear brother of Sheila "Sally" Caggiano of Shrewsbury and the late Marie Turner, James, William (his twin) and Louis Ambrose, Jr.. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Committal will be private.
