Janine Petersen

Janine Marie Petersen age 65 passed away peacefully, on Thursday, February 21, 2019 in Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, Mass. after life long challenges with mental illness. A resident of Winthrop her whole life, Janine enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Dinners out with friends and family, a ride up the beach or listening to the oldies were the things that brought her pleasure. She was known for her 1 liners and her good sense of humor.

Janine was devoted daughter to the late Joan S. Petersen and John W. Petersen. She is survived by her brother John Petersen and his wife Holly of Lynn, her sister Janice DiFiore and her husband Joe of North Conway, NH., her brother Joe Petersen of Stoneham, her late brother James’s wife Peggy Petersen of Tewksbury, her brother Jeff Petersen and his wife Shari, of Tempe AZ. and her brother Jay Petersen and his wife Janet of Cape Elizabeth ME. She also had many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 8:00 to 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Services will conclude with the interment in the Cross street section of Winthrop Cemetery.
