Joan M. (Sullivan) Bangs

Joan M. Bangs of Woodside Ave., Winthrop passed away at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on October 3, 2018. She was 87 years old. Born in Charlestown she was the beloved daughter of the late Mary V. (Barry) and John Sullivan. She was a former member of the St. John the Evangelist School Mother's Club and the Winthrop High School Mother's Club. 

She was the devoted wife of Richard "Dick" Bangs and the loving mother of Patricia M. Winn and her husband David of Winthrop, Janice M. MacKay of Winthrop, Paul J. Bangs and his wife Sheree of St. Ung, Florida, David L. Bangs and his wife Janet of Nashua, New Hampshire and the late Richard Bangs. Cherished grandmother of Ryan and his wife Erin, Christopher, Stephanie, Justin and his wife Maggie, Matthew and Bridget. Great grandmother of Evelyn and Eloise.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass in Winthrop Cemetery.
