Joseph F. Davies

Joseph F. Davies, Jr. of Banks St., Winthrop passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers on October 4, 2018. He was 78 years old. Born in East Boston he was the beloved son of the late Elizabeth (Pierce) and Joseph F. Davies, Sr.. He lived in East Boston before moving to Winthrop over 35 years ago. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a firefighter for the Boston Fire Department. He was also a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks.

He was the devoted husband of Ruth (Helm) and the special friend of Carol-Lynn Insley and her husband Tom of Florida, Billy Magrath and his wife Anita of Virginia, Jimmy Magrath and his wife Tammy of Pennsylvania and the late Mickey and John Magrath. Dear brother of Paul Davies and his wife Ann of Andover and Ellin Santos of Winthrop. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Kimberly, Nick, John, Kevin, Will, Madelyn, Jack, Elisa, Chelsea, Willow, Giselle and Harley. Great grandfather of Avi, Addy and Cooper. Dear friend of Olivia and Grace. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass in the Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
