Margaret M. DeFeo of Thornton Park, Winthrop passed away at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere on December 8, 2017. She was 86 years old. Born in Winthrop she was the beloved daughter of the late Mary Ellen (Danahy) and John T. Kirk. A lifetime resident of Winthrop she worked for many years as a lunch monitor for the Winthrop Public Schools.

She was the devoted wife of the late Peter A. DeFeo, Sr. and the loving mother of Doreen M. Hannigan of Winthrop and Peter A. DeFeo, Jr. of Winthrop. Dear sister of Jack Kirk of Winthrop and the late June Ann Kershaw. Cherished grandmother of Keith Copello.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 am. Interment to follow the mass in Winthrop Cemetery.
