Rev. Richard W. May of Harbor Side Ave., Winthrop passed away at the Cambridge Hospital on May 24, 2017. He was 70 years old. Born in Malden he was the beloved son of Delora (Hibbard). A resident of Winthrop for 30 years, he served in the Navy during Vietnam. After his honorable discharge he went on to work as a contractor in the construction business. He then went on to become the Pastor of the Christian Community Center in Winthrop for many years. He was also a member of the Amvets and the Christian Motorcycle Association.

He was the devoted husband of Doreen A. (DiStefano) and the loving father of Richard May and his wife Mary of Saugus, Kelly Trainor and her husband Jack of Winthrop and the late Scott May and his wife Andrea. Cherished grandfather of Rachel May, Jaxon Trainor and Jadon Trainor.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral service in the Calvary Christian Church 47 Grove St., Lynnfield on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow the service in the Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
