Stephen J. "Senator" Kennedy of Otis St., Winthrop passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers on April 5, 2017 after a brief illness. He was 46 years old. Born in Winchester he was the beloved son of Clare (Kinsella) and Arthur F. Kennedy, Jr.. He was a lifelong resident of Winthrop and was a 1991 graduate of Winthrop High School. Stephen was a longtime employee of the Town of Winthrop working for the Department of Public Works and the Michael Eruzione Center at the Larsen Rink. He also was a supervisor of concessions for Aramark for over 26 years working at Fenway Park.

He was the dear brother of Maura Souza of Wolfboro, New Hampshire and Sheila Kennedy of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He was the cherished uncle of Madeline Souza, Owen Souza and Jameson Hamm.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow the mass in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
