Alfred F. Scorzella, Jr. of Winthrop and Springhill, Florida passed away at the Chelsea Soldier's Home on August 1, 2021. He was 77 years old. Born in Winthrop he was the beloved son of the late Mary Rose (Gonzalez) and Alfred F. Scorzella, Sr. A graduate of Winthrop High School he went on to work with his father at Winthrop Engineering. He then joined the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He served 2 tours before being honorably discharged in 1967. After his discharge he worked for New England Traffic Signal then went on to work as a pipefitter at Bethlehem Steel.
He was the loving father of Marc Scorzella and his wife Michelle of Winthrop. He was the dear brother of Rosemary Butler and her late husband Ted of Peabody and Richard Scorzella and his wife Nancy of Waltham. Cherished grandfather of Alessandra, Victoria, Grace and Olivia. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Services will conclude with the interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
