Anthony S. Ferrara of Winthrop passed away at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere on January 1, 2021. He was 68 years old. Born in Boston he was the beloved son of the late Lucille (Iovanna) and Salvatore Ferrara. A life long resident of Winthrop he enlisted in the United States Air Force During the Vietnam War reaching the rank of Airman First Class. After his discharge he went on to work as a police officer for the MBTA Police.
He was the devoted husband of Marilyn (Driscoll) and the loving father of Anthony S. Ferrara, Jr. and his fiance Jamie Croteau of Winthrop and Lindsay Alcorn and her husband Jamieson of Peabody. Dear brother of Frank "Buster" Ferrara of Winthrop, Mary "Minnie" Martucci of Winthrop and Roberta Tiano of Florida. Cherished grandfather of Henry, Nino and Wyatt.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
