Charles Giaquinta Obituary

Charles Louis Giaquinta (Charlie), 78, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2020, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Charlie was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 21, 1941. Charlie built a life in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and Naples, Florida, before returning to Winthrop, Massachusetts, in 2013, where he enjoyed many friendships as a member of the E.B. Neighborhood PACE program and the Joe Guarino-St. Lazarus Bowling League. Charlie was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was stationed in the Philippines and served as a crew member conducting salvage missions during the Vietnam War. He was a devoted fan of Boston sports teams, an avid reader, and a jazz and classical music enthusiast. 

Charlie was predeceased by his son, Evan A. Giaquinta; brother, Arthur R. Giaquinta; parents, Salvatore and Ruth (Goldstein) Giaquinta; and niece, Stacy M. Cavanaugh. He is survived by his sons, Saul P. Giaquinta (Angel), Alex M. Giaquinta (Caitlin), and Cory L. Giaquinta of Southwest Florida; grandsons Dominic J. Kepsel of Post Falls, Idaho, and Theo J. Giaquinta of Naples, Florida; sister Susan F. Cavanaugh of Haverhill, Massachusetts; sister-in-law C. Joyce Giaquinta (Arthur) of Warrenville, Illinois; nephews, grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
