Elizabeth “Bette” Conley of Winthrop passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston surrounded by family on October 2, 2023. She was 84 years old. Born in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Mary E. (Musco) and Felix F. Albano, Sr.
She was the devoted wife of Edward “Teddy” Conley of Winthrop. Loving mother of Diana Campano and her husband Joe of Clinton, Connecticut, Lisa Conley of Charlestown and Fred Conroy, Andrea O’Reilly and her husband Steve of Topsfield, and Todd Conley and Rachel Arigo of Winthrop. Dear sister of Fr. Vincent Albano of Corpus Christi, Texas, and the late Felix F. Albano, Jr. of Winthrop. Cherished grandmother of Aimee, Jessica, Kristina, Julia, Leah, Steve, Camryn, and Maggie.
She was a proud (past member) of The St. John's Mother's Club, the CPYC Women's Bowling League and the Winthrop Catholic Women's Club.
Bette’s warmth and generosity knew no bounds. Her bubbly spirit and caring nature shaped everyone she met and everything she did. Known as Nona by her eight grandchildren, Bette filled visits with love and laughter, ending each one with a promise to see them soon, a big kiss, and a tight hug enveloped in the signature scent of her favorite perfume.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on October 7, 2023 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Services will conclude with the interment in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery.
