Ernest A. Lessard of Winthrop passed away at the Eastpointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea on April 14, 2020. He was 90 years old. Born in Boston he was the beloved son of the late Martha and Armond Lessard. A life long resident of Winthrop he was employed with Massachusetts Electric for over 42 years. He was a life member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks, a member of the Holy Name Society Bowling League, Eucharistic Minister at St. John the Evangelist Church, Winthrop Cemetery Commissioner, School Building Committee, Council Member and van driver for the Council of Aging and a member of the Winthrop Hospital Board.
Our father was a kind and loving man. He was a friend to everyone he met. He was so in love with our mother until her last breath two years ago. Our family was blessed by God to have him as our father.
He was the devoted husband of the late Muriel (Fredericks) and the loving father of David and Karen Lessard, Mary and Charles McGrail, Richard and Jane Lessard, Kathryn and Robert Dixon, Nancy and Patrick Feeley, Linda and Mark Sirois and Donna and Chester Farland. Dear brother of Jeanette Schultz and the late Robert Lessard, Cecile Tillinghast and Germaine Cunningham. Also survived by 24 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Interment in Winthrop Cemetery was private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
