George Costonis Obituary

George C."Gio” Costonis, aka Marco Dicristo, passed away on September 4, 2021 in Anchorage, Alaska, from the COVID 19 virus at the age of 53. Although born in Madison, Wisconsin in 1967, Gio graduated from Winthrop High School in 1986, obtained a post graduate invitation to attend Lawrenceville Academy and later Northeastern University.

Gio’s first love was music. He started his own musical group under the name “Worth the Wait” in the late 90’s, performing at nightclubs in the northeast. From that experience, Gio understood the many challenges faced by artists in the musical industry. This inspired Gio to become a music producer, eventually leading to the successful launch of an international record label and a production group named “Love Vibration Nation”. He continued his own dance and house music career as part of the group “The Co-Creators”. The company’s mission was to introduce both new artists and new sounds to the music industry through a global distribution and a weekly radio show. The show received an Emmy nomination.

Gio will always be remembered as a creative fun-loving person and friend. Everywhere he went, people were drawn to his charisma, quick wit, kindness, and generosity. Gio had a larger-than-life personality and lit up every room he ever walked through. All of us will forever miss his presence.

Gio is survived by his father Anthony F. Costonis, stepmother Dorothy Costonis and his mother Laura Caperton; his brothers Michael Costonis and wife Marissa and Joel Costonis and wife Rae-Shawna; half-sister Ellie Brogan and was pre-deceased by his half-sister Laurie Ann Brogan. Gio came from a large extended family and will be fondly remembered by all who loved him.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a celebration of life service in the funeral home at 1:00 PM.
