James J. Murphy

James J. Murphy of Winthrop passed away at home on October 30, 2021. He was 70 years old. Born in Winthrop, he was the beloved son of the late Lottie (Stefanik) and John A. Murphy. A life-long resident of Winthrop, he was employed in the roofing industry for many years prior to his retirement. He was also a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks and the Beachmont Yacht Club.

He was the loving father of Michael Moriarty and his wife Katie of Rye, New Hampshire and the dear brother of John Murphy of Hingham, Gloria Murphy of Winthrop, Kathleen Ahern of Stoneham and Robert Murphy of Winthrop. Cherished grandfather of Molly, Kelly and Teagan Moriarty.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Thursday, November 4, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home immediately following the visitation at 12:30 PM. Committal will be private.
