Jean Adamo of Winthrop passed away at the Atrium at Danvers on February 16, 2021. She was 100 years old. Born in Boston she was the beloved daughter of the late Jennie (Innaca) and Alfonso Manzo. She grew up in East Boston before moving to Winthrop over 70 years ago. Prior to her retirement she was employed as the office manager for Bartlett Plumbing for many years. She was also a member of the Winthrop Catholic Women's Club.
She was the devoted wife of the late Peter S. Adamo and the loving mother of Marion Swatton and her companion Paul of Winthrop, Janet A. Simmons and her husband Jim of Florida and Elaine Massaro and her husband Fred of Middleton. Dear sister of Carmela "Millie" Cedrone of Hopedale and the late Elizabeth Cella, Salvatore Manzo, Marie LaBella, Theresa Scarpa, Peter Manzo and Rose Manzo. Cherished grandmother of Loriann, Jeanine, Ricky, Peter, Danielle, Christopher, Matthew and Stephen. Great grandmother of Mikey, Alaina, Jayden, Trevor, James, Jorga, Madison Taylor and Jay. Great great grandmother of Damon. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 8:30 to 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Services will conclude with the interment in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery.
