Maria Cattena (Bellanti) Polcaro

Maria C. (Bellanti) Polcaro of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston, passed away at Care One in Concord on May 8, 2021. She was the beloved daughter of the late Antonietta (LoGiudice) and Felice Bellanti. Loving wife of 38 years to the late Antonio "Tony" Polcaro. 

Maria was raised in East Boston and attended the James Otis School, Barnes Middle School and East Boston High School. She moved to Winthrop with her family in 1990. Most of you would recognize Maria by her outgoing personality and big smile which could be seen at Michael's Hallmark in Winthrop Center where she worked for 10 years. She also dedicated her time volunteering at Holy Rosary Parish in Winthrop.     

Maria was the devoted mother of Generoso "Gino" Polcaro and his wife Karen of Groton, Lisa Marie Marriott and her husband James of Pepperell and Antonietta Adler and her husband Brian of Winthrop. Dear sister of Joseph Bellanti and his wife Pavlina of Beverly and Dorothy Roan and her husband Daniel of Saugus. Cherished grandmother of Joseph, Anthony, Gianna, Julia and Jason. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.  

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, May 13, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 14, 2021, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Winthrop at 11:30 AM. 

*Attendees must wear masks in the church and funeral home and observe social distancing protocols.
