Obituary
Michael J. Carroll of Melrose and Winthrop, MA passed away at home on May 13, 2023 at the age of 66. Born in Beverly and raised in Melrose, he was the beloved son of Theresa (McGeough) Carroll and the late Vance J. Carroll. He is survived by his brother Robert Carroll and his wife Colleen of Seeley Lake, MT, his sister Susan Buscanera of Clinton, MA, his sister Jane Buccilli and her husband Ralph of Melrose, MA, his long-time partner in life, Janyce DeMone Slack and his beloved basset hound, Sadie. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.
Michael attended Northeast Metro Regional Vocation High School and served 8 years in the U.S. Navy as a Sonar Technician 2nd Class. He then went on to a 21 year career as a Field Service Engineer for Associated X-Ray Imaging in Haverhill, MA. Michael enjoyed fishing, traveling, music and was a long time member of the Melrose VFW Post 2394 and the Melrose Fish and Game Club.
A memorial mass in Michael’s honor will be held at a later date.
