Michael D. Zarba

Michael D. Zarba of Winthrop passed away at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston on June 6, 2023. He was 90 years old. Born in the North End of Boston he was the beloved son of the late Damiana (Cali) and Diego Zarba. A resident of Winthrop for over 60 years he served as a patrolman for the Boston Police Department prior to his retirement. He was also a member of the Madonna Della Casa Society, the AMVETS and the Boston Police Patrolman's Association.

He was the devoted husband of Adele M. (Hudson) and the loving father of Deborah McDermott and her husband Tom of Canon, New Hampshire, Carolyn Cohen and her husband Gregg of Swampscott, Michelle Pettee and her husband Wayne of Winthrop, Michael Zarba of Winthrop and the late Pamela Gaylor. Dear brother of Josephine Toscano and her late husband Frank of the North End, Salvatore Zarba and his wife Pat of Rowley and the late Joseph Zarba and his wife Elaine. Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Josh, Angela, Olivia, Tyler, Max, Isabella and Zachary. Great grandfather of Desmond, Nola and Rylan.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Saturday, June 10, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:30 Am followed by a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 12:00 PM. Services will conclude with the interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
