Pamela M. Dawson, of Winthrop, went peacefully to her Lord surrounded by family on December 12th, 2023 at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine. Pam, as she was known to her friends and loved ones, was 71 years old. She was beloved daughter of Mary T. (Spillane) and Philip J. Dawson.
As a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston, Pam dedicated herself to her studies and building a career. She retired from her position as a tax examiner with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in July of 2023. She was exceptionally devout in her faith, having been part of Saint John the Evangelist parish her entire life where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister in her later years. Pam is predeceased by her parents, and her brother Daniel P. Dawson.
She leaves behind Margaret “Peggy” Bayliss, of Calais, ME, Paul Dawson and wife Joy of Rochester, MA, Sandra M. Dawson of Revere, MA, and Philip J. Dawson, Jr. of Tennessee. Pam did not have any children, but she was especially proud of her nieces Sarah Seelye and husband Nick of Calais, ME, Elizabeth Brownell and her beautiful son Lucas of RI, Alexandra Merfeld and husband John of Brighton, and nephews Ryan Bayliss and partner Mary of Pembroke, ME, and Matt Brownell and wife Carly of New York. She also dearly loved her great niece and nephew, Hannah and Manny of Calais, ME.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Sunday, December 17th, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home Monday, December 18th, 2023 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Services will conclude with interment in the Belle Isle section of Winthrop Cemetery.
