Scott T. Sears of Andrew St., Winthrop passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2019. He was 48 years old. Born in Boston he was the beloved son of William E. Sears and step mother Anne Clancy and his late mother Shirley (Trybendis). A life long resident of Winthrop he was a 1989 graduate of Winthrop High School where he excelled in Hockey being named captain of the team his senior year. He went on to work for the Sheriff's Department and later on becoming a chef working in several local restaurants and clubs. He helped feed the homeless at the Holy Rosary Church in Winthrop as well as rescue stray animals bringing them to the Copeland Center at the MSPCA. He was also a Friend of Bill W.
He was the dear brother of William "Mickey" Sears of California, Carolyn Lyons of Winthrop, Colleen Cassavaugh of Methuen and the late Sharon Sullivan. He was the loving companion of Jessica Testa. He is also survived by his dog Jaxx, his dear friend Kara Bonita and several loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in the Holy Rosary Church 993 Shirley St., Winthrop at 10:00 AM. Committal will be private.
