Vincent R. Finocchio of Winthrop passed away at home on December 31, 2020. He was 92 years old. Born in Boston he was the beloved son of the late Anna (Valente) and Frank Finocchio. A resident of Winthrop for over 71 years he enlisted in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged after serving almost four years of service. After his discharge he went on to work as a machinist for John Hancock Insurance repairing office equipment. He also coached for many years for Winthrop Little League.
He was the devoted husband of Mary Ann (Antoniolo) and the loving father of Anne Marie Lynch of Winthrop and the late Vincent W. Finocchio. He was the dear brother of the late Guido and Joseph Finocchio. Cherished grandfather of Bobbie, Stefanie, Christopher, Kate, Sierra and Michael. Great grandfather of Gianni, Sky, Vincenza and River.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church 320 Winthrop St., Winthrop on Tuesday, January 5, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Services will conclude with military honors in the Cross Street section of Winthrop Cemetery.
