William A. Benker
Obituary
William A. Benker of Winthrop passed away at home on April 23, 2023. He was 76 years old. Born in Boston, he was the beloved son of the late Rose (Sabino) and William Benker. A lifetime resident of Winthrop, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. during the Vietnam War reaching the rank of Private. After his honorable discharge he went on to work as a corrections officer for the Suffolk County House of Corrections prior to his retirement. He was also a member of the Winthrop Yacht Club and the AMVETS.
He was the loving companion of the late Nancy Grimm and the loving father of Nicole Rizzotto and her husband Daniel of Winthrop. Dear brother of the late John "Skipper" Benker. Cherished grandfather of Jared Whalen, Anthony, Adrianna and Brianna Rizzotto. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews..
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend the visitation from the funeral home on Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM followed by a funeral service with military honors in the funeral home at 6:00 PM.
