Sending blessings at this time of loss from the Fitzgerald family. My mom (Jane Carney Fitzgerald) loved her. Their bond of their friendship was strong. They shared a strength and wit about the life challenges they'd been given. Mom called her Alice MGill, but we referred to her as Mrs. McGillicuddy. After spending time talking to her, my mom always seemed happier. She was a true friend. During a multi house fire on Shirley St in 1964, sister Wink and I were dropped off to spend the night with Mrs. M. She was so welcoming and introduced us to real raspberry jam! I still think of her fondly when I slather toast with jam. Each Xmas she sent over an early present of coloring books or "cut out" dolls for us. It was always the first gift we were allowed to take from under the tree. Her house on the way to the park was a safe haven from early childhood til even recently. About 4-5 years ago I stopped by with my brother Jon to say hello and give her a hug. She was as open hearted as ever. May you rest in peace Mrs. McGillicuddy, and thank-you for making our lives richer for having smiled upon us. Love, Jill Fitzgerald

To the McGillicuddy family,
We are so sorry to hear of Ali's passing. She was a remarkable woman , so full of energy and a great love for her family. She was always so much fun at family gatherings with a sense of humor that was contagious. Ali experienced great love and great heartache but never lost her poise or her passion for life. We were blessed to be part of her life. Love Ellen and John and family

To the McGillicuddy Family,
Tom and I send our sympathy to all of you on your loss of Allie. She was an incredible Godmother to me and she never forgot me, ever. Allie had a remarkable mind no doubt from playing crossword puzzles that she loved and watching her favorite sporting team, the Red Sox. Allie had many heartaches in her life and faced them with courage never feeling sorry for herself and continued to give her best always working hard. I had the pleasure of working with her for 3 years at the Credit Bureau while I attended high school. Allie and Bob were at our wedding 46 years ago and she always spoke of our grandchildren during our visits. We enjoyed her stories of her escapades with my mother down the Point and during their high school days. Allie's vibrant personally touched every one she met but her true love was her family with pictures proudly displayed in her home. Thursday will be a profoundly sad day but also a day to celebrate Allie's life. As Dr. Seuss said, 'Don't cry because it's over, Smile because it happened,'
